North Lincoln Gallery Art Crawl
On Friday, September 3, 9 Muses Studio, International Quilt Study Center & Museum, LUX Center for the Arts, Mo Java Café, Salt Creek Potter’s Workshop, and the lichen will participate in the North Lincoln Art Crawl. LUX Center Membership and Marketing Coordinator, Carlos Guerrero says, “Last month we had one of our most attended crawls. The creative vibe in North Lincoln seems to be drawing in people from across the city.”
9 Muses Studio – 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

9 Muses Studio presents the work of photographer, Jack Hubbell; found object artist, Lori Hubbell; and bronze sculptor, Pete Wroblewski.
Lori Hubbell will perform an “Asian Fan Dance” throughout the evening. This type of dance evokes the magnificence of Japanese costuming and the mysterious and alluring movement of the fan as a prop.
9 Muses Studio, is an organization of artists and performers who have come together to present their work to the public. During the year, we will be offering dance/movement classes, presenting local musical talent, mounting exhibitions, and giving dance workshops. The goal of the Co-op is to maintain a space where women will take creative risks and empower themselves through creative movement.

Against the Wall Gallery presents “A Day at the Lake: A New Book of Photography” by Wayne Hathaway. This exhibition of wildlife and landscape photography by Sterling, Nebraska photographer Wayne Hathaway documents the unique natural environment at Lincoln’s Holmes Lake. Hathaway’s new book and framed photographs will be available for purchase.

International Quilt Study Center & Museum presents the ongoing exhibitions “Childhood Treasures: Doll Quilts from the Ghormley Collection.” and “South Asian Seams: Quilts from India, Pakistan, & Bangladesh”.
The LUX Center for the Arts – 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

LUX Center for the Arts presents, “Unsettled” by acclaimed textiles artist, Xia Gao. She uses fabric, screen-printing, and light to tell her story of relocation and adaptation to Nebraska from her native country, China. This exhibition is in collaboration with the Textile Society of America conference.
LUX Center for the Arts also presents, “A Mortal’s Dream” by LUX Artist-in-Residence Natasha Overholtzer. She draws inspiration for her work from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and creates playful interpretations by installing small groups of her elegant jewelry in shadowboxes that represent each of the fairies in the play: “Peaseblossom,” “Cobweb,” and “Mustardseed.” Overholtzer will be on hand at the opening to answer questions.

Art opening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and live music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mo Java Café presents the artwork of a local artist. Live music will be performed by a local artist.

Salt Creek Potters Work Shop presents new ceramic work by the Workshop Artists: LarryBrown, Chad Davis, Peg Pelter, and Larry Pelter.
the lichen – 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

the lichen continues the showing of “Packets & Attachments”, a series of photographs made by an artist working anonymously under the pseudonym Z. Xonk. All communications between Xonk and the lichen were made digitally, leaving Xonk completely unknown. This body of work explores digital, social interactions involving anonymity, sexuality and gender.
At 9:00 p.m., the lichen will be holding an encore screening of “Within the Realm of the People: love, dreams, & the reanimation of a severed dog’s head.” This film is a compilation of beautiful, bizarre, and bygone public domain footage. A live soundtrack will be performed by The Ghost Kids.
