Lincoln Business to send Valentines one letter at a time
LINCOLN – In this era of Facebook, Twitter, computer generated greeting cards, and cell phone texts, a Lincoln business and its supporters are giving lovers a chance to say “Happy Valentine’s Day” with old-school methods and delivered in an unforgettable way.
From February 11th – 14th Porridge Papers, Lincoln’s nationally recognized handmade papermill and letterpress studio, is hosting the 5th Annual Love on the Run. The public is invited to stop by Porridge Papers, 1422 South Street, to type their own love note on antique typewriters that will then be rolled up into glass bottles and delivered to your Valentine free of charge.
“Love on the Run is a way for our business to express love and appreciation for Lincoln,” said Christopher James, owner of Porridge Papers.
This free event is founded on the idea of giving love back to the community. In the past several years countless mothers, fathers, wives, sons, daughters, teachers, boyfriends, husbands, brothers, sisters, etc. have had their lives touched by a simple message in a bottle. The response of the local community has been nothing short of overwhelming as each year’s love on the run has grown larger than the last. This year Porridge Papers is gearing up to Deliver 500 bottles of love!
The public is invited to type a love note at Porridge Papers, 1422 South Street:
Saturday, February 11th, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sweets Bar and savory snacks
Sunday, February 12th, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sweets Bar and savory snacks
Tuesday, February 14th, All Day Delivery
Volunteers are needed to help deliver Valentines and supervise the events. Please contact Christopher at love@porridgepapers.com if you’re interested in helping.
